Charlotte Checkers Logo

The name of Charlotte’s minor league hockey team didn’t lend itself to an obvious logo concept. The Checkers’ identity was almost a St. Bernard but was scrapped in favor of a more aggressive-looking polar bear named Chubby. His black eye forms a “C” for “Charlotte.”

Special thanks to Felix Sabates, Carl Scheer and LGA.

Montcross Logo and Name

The inspiration for this logo for a mixed-use development in Belmont, NC was taken from architectural elements from Belmont Abbey, a Benedictine monastery founded in 1876. The name is derived from combining “mont” from “Belmont” and “Cross” as a tribute to the Abbey, which owns the land.

Special thanks to Luquire George Andrews (LGA).
